West Pennant Hills is one of the leafiest suburbs in the Hills District, with big blocks, tall gums and Cumberland State Forest on its doorstep. The trees are a big part of living here, but they are hard on roofs. Leaves and bark fill gutters and valleys, branches crack tiles in storms, and the shaded side of the roof stays damp long enough for moss and lichen to take hold.
Many homes here were built between the 1970s and the 1990s, so a lot of roofs are now 30 to 50 years old. Some terracotta and concrete tile roofs still have plenty of life left and only need repairs or a restoration. Others have reached the point where re-roofing makes more sense, and Colorbond is a popular choice when they do.
Dan will inspect your roof and tell you honestly which of those it is. If a restoration will do the job, he won’t push you towards a new roof.

We couldn’t be happier with the service we received from the Roof Ranger team to re-roof our house. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the team always turned up when they said they would—which was invaluable for us as a busy family. They worked efficiently, kept disruption to a minimum, and were always courteous, professional, and left everything clean and tidy. The finished roof looks fantastic, and we’ve already had compliments from neighbours. On top of that, their pricing was fair and transparent. We’d happily recommend Dan and the team to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality roofers!Posted on Google![]()

Dan's team executed a roof restoration on our 45 year old home in Yarramundi (clean, gutter clean, repairs, whirly-birds, tile replacements in some areas and paint). Dan also coordinated another small business to remove and place our rust gutters/down-pipes on at the same time. It was a 2 day job, completed to a very high standard. We had super clear and friendly communication through out the job. We are very happy and looking forward to our very new and not-leaky roof.Posted on Google![]()

Dan and Harry did a roof restoration on my home. They did a fantastic job. My roof (which is over 40 years old) looks brand new! Dan was great to deal with from start to finish, including nice touches like knocking on my neighbours doors to assure them he would clean up any debris that fell onto their property. I highly recommend Roof Ranger for your roof restoration.Posted on Google![]()

We honestly could not recommend this roofing company highly enough. From the very beginning, they were professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to deal with. Their pricing was fair and transparent, and the quality of their workmanship was outstanding. They repaired our roof efficiently and gave us complete confidence in the work they carried out. Then, when another issue appeared a couple of months later, they came back promptly and fixed it without any hassle at all. Since then, our roof has been perfect with absolutely no further problems. It’s rare to find a company that genuinely cares about their customers and stands by their work, but this team absolutely does. If you’re looking for honest, skilled, and dependable roofers, I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.
If your tiles are past restoring or your old metal roof has rusted through, we can replace it with new tiles or with Colorbond. Colorbond is lighter than tiles and doesn’t need repainting, which suits a lot of homes here, but we’ll tell you honestly whether replacement is really needed before you commit.
Reroofing is priced at $120 to $130 per square metre, whether you are going tile to tile or tile to Colorbond.

When your tiles have faded and the ridge capping is cracking in several places, a restoration brings the whole roof back into good condition for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
We restore all three main roof types:
Every restoration includes cleaning, replacing broken tiles, redoing all the ridge caps and three coats of paint, one primer and two colour coats.
Storm damage, slipped tiles and leaks from blocked valleys are common on leafy streets like these. We find the cause of the problem and fix it properly.
Standard repairs to tiles and capping usually take between a couple of hours and a day.

If your roof is sound but faded or covered in moss, a clean or a repaint can refresh the look of your home. Gutter cleaning matters more than usual on tree-lined streets, and whirlybirds help keep your roof space cool and dry.
Before any paint goes on, we clean your roof and repair any damage, so the coating has a solid surface to bond to.

Based in Penrith, Roof Ranger works across Western Sydney, the Hills District, the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Macarthur, including West Pennant Hills and the suburbs around it.
We also work in Beecroft, Thornleigh, Westleigh and Epping, and we look after homes in Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook next door.

Book a free roof inspection and quote, and Dan will tell you in plain language what needs fixing now and what can wait.
It depends on the condition of the tiles and the battens underneath them. If most of the tiles are sound, a restoration at $20 to $28 per square metre is the better value. If the tiles are porous or cracking across the roof, or the battens are failing, re-roofing in tiles or Colorbond is the longer-term fix. Dan will check your roof and give you an honest answer.
Re-roofing is priced at $120 to $130 per square metre, whether you are going tile to tile or tile to Colorbond. For most homes that comes to $25,000 to $45,000. Every quote is free and comes after we’ve inspected your roof.
Smaller repair work, such as replacing broken tiles and redoing some capping, generally costs $1,000 to $2,000. Roof restoration is priced at $20 to $28 per square metre, which is usually $4,500 to $6,500 for a single-storey home and $7,000 to $8,000 for a double storey.
Leaves and bark block gutters and valleys, so water backs up under the tiles and into the ceiling. Shade keeps the roof damp, which lets moss and lichen grow, and falling branches can crack tiles or dent metal sheets. Regular gutter cleaning and a check after big storms will catch most problems early.
A full re-roof takes three to four days on site, weather permitting. A roof restoration typically takes about two days, and standard repairs to tiles and capping usually take between a couple of hours and a day.
Roof Ranger repairs and restores Colorbond and other metal roofs, including replacing loose screws, resealing joins, treating rust and replacing damaged sheets. If the roof is past restoring, we can replace it as well.
Painting suits a roof that is sound but faded. If there are cracked tiles, worn capping or leaks, a restoration fixes those first and then applies a primer and two colour coats, so the finish has a sound roof underneath it.
Roof Ranger holds NSW contractor licence 244547C and carries the required insurances for roofing work. Every roof restoration is also backed by a 10-year workmanship guarantee.
